Overview

The hallmark of outstanding leadership is the ability to create a compelling vision to inspire and motivate others. Successful leaders think two moves ahead, demonstrate strong strategic thinking skills, are mindful of significant trends that will impact business outcomes, and adapt and adjust plans based on anticipated changes. Future orientation can be challenging for HR leaders mired in tactical challenges, yet it is essential to be considered a credible business leader.

This webinar guides HR leaders through a process to create a vision for their department that can be used to set a strategy that aligns HR’s focus with the direction of the entire organization. Dr. Alice Waagen will present a sample of strategic thinking skills and tools to build the strategies needed to support an HR vision.

Attendees will learn

  • The structure and components of a vision statement
  • How an HR vision can be constructed
  • Creating the HR vision: A 5 step process
  • Strategic thinking – what is it?
  • Why is it important?
  • Tools for strategic thinking
