Overview

In a dynamic workplace culture, kindness may seem more like a “nice to have” than a need. Employee engagement and retention are critical for organizations of all sizes, and in light of evolving work practices that have given employees more options, values like compassion, understanding, and respect are more important than ever.

Recent research by the NIH indicates that today’s effective leaders must be more “person-focused” and able to work well with people from various teams, departments, countries, cultures, and backgrounds. We believe that in the years to come, this will become even more important as leadership can – and should – adapt to our shifting global environment.

Fortunately, kindness in the workplace requires a skillset that can be taught. It plays a key part in emotional intelligence and leadership effectiveness. Kinder interactions among leaders and employees can lead to more effective communication, which can drive positive organizational outcomes. Through activities and facilitated discussion, the experience will encourage your team to create a kind workplace by encouraging a deep understanding of kindness and what it would look like at work.

Attendees will learn

  • The benefits of kindness in the workplace.
  • How organizations can encourage kindness in the workplace.
  • How to improve your leaders’ ability to show kindness, empathy, and compassion.
  • Why kindness is an especially important skill for managers at all levels.
  • New ideas about creating a kind workplace culture.
  • How to increase the agency and responsibility of the team.
  • How to increase the resilience and flexibility of the team.
