Bob Lavigna

Bob Lavigna has more than 30 years of experience leading HR organizations and programs. As Assistant Vice Chancellor-HR for the University of Wisconsin, he directs the full range of centralized HR activities for a university ranked among the world’s top 25 research institutions. The University of Wisconsin has 42,000 students and 29,000 employees. He is also an adjunct Associate Professor at the Wisconsin La Follette School of Public Affairs. The organizations Bob has led have received innovation awards from the Ford Foundation, International Public Management Association for HR, Urban League, Council of State Governments, National Association of State Personnel Executives and others. His awards include selection as a “Public Official of the Year” by Governing magazine. Bob is also an elected Fellow of the National Academy of Public Administration, and is the author of Engaging Government Employees: Motivate and Inspire Your People to Achieve Superior Performance.
