Overview

Tina Fey once said, “Just say yes, and you’ll figure it out afterwards.” It’s a great motto for life, for leadership, and for this webinar.

For if you say YES to this webinar, whether you regularly lead training, are brand new to training, or are in a leadership role and want to better support your employees who oversee talent development, you will leave our time together confident and clear on how to use improv-inspired activities to develop people’s communication and leadership skills. Plus, you will compile a variety of activities you can easily integrate into existing face-to-face and virtual training.

Improv is a great way to develop your employees’ confidence, increase their ability to innovate, and heighten their communication (and listening) skills so they can speak up in meetings and on behalf of your organization. In this webinar, you will also explore common mistakes too many HR and talent development professionals unknowingly make when leading improv in a corporate setting so you can avoid them. You’ll also be poised to bring a “yes, and” attitude to the myriad challenges and constraints you are facing, particularly when it comes to engaging remote learners.

A former instructor of improv at The City University of New York (CUNY) and the founder and president of the Step into Your Moxie® communication and leadership development platform, executive and speaking coach, Alexia Vernon excels at showing HR and talent development professionals how to harness improv as an employee development tool. She’ll support you to develop the mindset and skill set to be able to walk into any room, conversation, or onto any stage and speak up for yourself, the ideas and issues that matter most to you, and call people to take action.

Attendees will learn

  • Icebreakers, team-building, and skill-building activities you can integrate into virtual and face-to-face training.
  • Identify how to choose the best improv activities for your employees and organizational culture.
  • How to talk about improv so employees are excited vs. resistant to engage in activities.
  • How to “stop and smile” when delivering training to bring a “yes, and” attitude to life.
  • How to facilitate improv activities and connect them to training goals.
